The competition is open to all competitors and shall comprise the following sections
Open Section – no restriction on who may enter this section.
Professional (substantial income source derived from woodturning) wood-turners shall always be deemed to be open exhibitors.
Intermediate Section – competitors who have not won a First
prize in Intermediate, or any prize in Open Section in any Woodturning competition. (2008 comp. only).
Novice Section – competitors who have not won a First prize in
Novice, or any prize in Intermediate or Open sections, excluding commendations at any woodturning competition.
Student Section – open to Primary and Secondary School
Students only. The school or college being attended must be stated on the entry form.
Dates: 27th -30th June 2008
Entries close:
lodged at the Showgrounds Office, Ingham Rd, or by mail to: TPA & I Ass, Box 5064 MC, Townsville, 4810 and close at 4 pm
on Monday 26th May 2008. or
lodged by hand at the Townsville Area Woodturners Association Inc. premises at their meeting on the 2nd June 2007 and close
at 9 pm on the 2nd June 2008.
No entry forms will be accepted after those dates and times.
Entries received: Entries & exhibits are to be delivered to the display area, adjacent to Heatley Hall,
between 1 pm and 4 pm on Wednesday 25th June. Exhibits received after that time may be exhibited but will not be considered for judging. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE TAKEN.
Collection of Entries: After delivery to the exhibit area, entrants may chose to withdraw an entry from judging, however all entries may only be collected by the entrant or their authorised representative after the exhibition close at
10 pm on Monday 30th June or on Tuesday 1st July between 8 am and 9 am at the display area. Items requiring return delivery will only be returned to the entrant if the delivery fees have been
prepaid and only in the packaging supplied by the entrant.
